AHA Beauty Bar by Gloss Skin and Beyond

As you guys know, I recently became one of Gloss PH’s brand ambassadors. They sent me products to review and this AHA Beauty Bar is the first product that caught my attention. 📌 disclaimer: even though they sent me these products, my reviews are always honest and is a hundred percent accurate based on my own personal experience Before we get started, I wanted to give you guys a quick background knowledge about AHAs.  

WHAT IS AHA?

Alpha Hydroxy Acids are a group of natural and synthetic ingredients (plant or animal-derived acids) that when properly formulated, can exfoliate the uppermost layers of skin. Doing so reveals fresher, refined skin that appears much smoother, hydrated and overtime, visibly firmer.

Anyone who is concerned about looking younger can consider adding AHAs products on their skincare routine.

EXAMPLE OF AHA’S:

Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Malic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Citric Acid, and Mandelic Acid.

The most common Alpha Hydroxyl Acids are Lactic and Glycolic acid. These two acids in particular penetrate the skin very well and are often used in skincare products.

If you have heard BHAs, and wanted to know the difference between the two, basically—AHAs are  preferred for sun-damaged and dry skin because they exfoliate the skin’s surface and have added moisture content. BHA is preferred for oily, acne-prome skin and for treating blackheads and whiteheads. The main point is, AHA don’t penetrate deeply as BHA’s.

HOW DOES AHA WORK?

Just like what is commonly known, AHA is an exfoliator. They remove the upper layer junk of skin that holds the old, dead skin cells. 

They help brighten up the skin, promote production of collagen, reduce the appearance of surface lines and wrinkles, promote blood flow to the skin, minimize and correct discoloration. AHA even helps treat and prevent acne. Also it helps your skin to absorb more good stuff from your skincare products.

DIRECTION: Apply lather and leave for less than a minute on face then rinse. For body, leave for 5 minutes then rinse.

I started using this beauty bar day and night as my face wash because I have a sensitive, combination to oily and break-out prone skin. I also live in a very humid and polluted country so my skin really suffers and is having a hard time to recover itself. That’s why I need good products to help my skin. I love the formula! One step closer to achieving that glass skin everyone wants. 

What I love about Gloss Skin and Beyond AHA Beauty Bar is that it doesn’t claim much on the packaging but it actually does work. And even if the skin on your face is a lot more sensitive, you can always use this on your body.
